Paths

When everything is all said and done all the roads to take have been taken. when you know that you can do nothing to change what is in the past. when you have given up on everything that once meant so much to you. when it is all you can do to just keep going. when your dreams have been shoot down, disregarded and there is nothing left for you to do but give in and settle. Do you settle? take the easy way out and just go with what everyone said the you would soon end up being. stop trying for everything that meant anything to you and go with what everyone else wants you to be. or do you go your own way. the hard way. the way where you lose they people you once called friends the ones you once loved so dearly the ones who you thought would always be there. do you choose yourself over it all knowing that what you have to fight for is not only your own pride but your happiness?
